February Favourites
The pants you need, a versatile legume and a new-found obsession with country music.
This is the monthly favourites roundup that you didn’t ask for, but I’m going to give you anyway. A fashion favourite, a beauty favourite, a food favourite, a lifestyle favourite, a health favourite and a music favourite will make up this series each month as I roundup what I’ve been loving and lusting over in the last 30 days.
Fashion Favourite: Forest Green Cargo Pants
A rediscovered favourite of mine, I have been reaching for my beloved forest green cargo pants a lot in February. The perfect trans-seasonal casual pant, I find them to be such a wardrobe staple when I want comfort and style. Mine are old Zara ones that I bought years ago in Paris but I have also been eyeing off these Matteau fisherman style ones for some time now and am very tempted to pull the trigger. I think this colour will also be pretty big in 2025, with lots of athleisure coming out in this army green shade so don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Beauty Favourite: Chantecaille Tinted Moisturiser
Another rediscovered favourite of mine, the Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturiser has worked its way back into my rotation recently. The perfect all over colour for a bit of skin-evening and brightening when heading into the office, I use it everyday. It’s quick (I just whack it on with my fingers), super lightweight and doesn’t break me out so, win, win, win! The only thing I will say is that it can get a little shiny by the end of the day so if you’re a little combo/oily skin girl like me, I’d just make sure to set the T-zone with a little powder in the morning.
Food Favourite: Chickpeas
Oh so random but oh so scrumptious, my Feb food favourite is chickpeas. Versatile, packed with protein and super easy to add to salads or roast up and use as a crunchy topping on your favourite salmon bowl, these bad boys have been a weekly food shop staple. Next on my list is turning them into some yummy homemade hummus (when I finally locate my damn blender).
Lifestyle Favourite: Body Gua Sha
Lymphatic drainage is my latest obsession and with that has come a new love for body tools. I have always been a devotee to my dry body brush but I was recently introduced to a body gua sha and don’t think I’ll ever go back. Working on both your lymphatic and fascia systems, a body gua sha works to reduce water retention, stimulate blood flow and get rid of any puffiness that you may be experiencing. It’s also super important (I recently learnt) to activate your drainage points before starting so that has been making a huge difference. I don’t get to do this every single day because it can take a little time but I try to commit to it at least three or four times a week.
Health Favourite: Peaches Pilates
An OG favourite of mine, Peaches Pilates is my favourite way to move my body. The classes are always challenging yet enjoyable and with a consistent focus on perfecting form and engaging all different muscle groups. I have been using their online platform since 2020 and have been attending their studios since 2023. The instructors are also all so lovely and make a real effort to build trust with their clients which I really value. If you’re looking for a new Pilates studio, there are Peaches locations all around Australia so I would highly recommend signing up.
Music Favourite: Cover Me Up, Morgan Wallen
So, I recently finished Yellowstone after binging the entire five series in the space of about a month and, in what I believe to be a completely natural progression, I now have an obsession with country music. This month’s top hit was Cover Me Up by Morgan Wallen, a truly swoon-worthy love song that I have listened to on repeat.
